I don’t know why, but I’ve got this strange feeling that Floyd’s just going to back out of this fight. I know it would sound crazy to turn down a $20+ million pay day, but will he be willing to risk his undefeated record? Looking at the fights he’s dodged in the past, It really seems like he wouldn’t want to and that’s exactly why I was surprised that the guy manned up and agreed to this fight.. at least verbally. In all honesty, Mayweather could be bluffing this one out and I don’t see why not. He’d look bad saying no to this fight and maybe somewhere along the terms he gave to Richard Shaeffer, he was expecting Manny to say no, knowing that Manny would be busy with his campaign for the Sarangani congressional seat in May. I don’t know what kind of excuse Floyd could come up with at this point, but it looks like he’s going to have to come up with something really good if he’s going to back out now.
My family’s already got a room booked at the new Vdara hotel (a part of City Center) for March 13, so Floyd better not back out of this one!
